"Emotions are lovely. Even if they fall to the negative for a time. The sun will rise again another day. The sadness perhaps never forgotten, but a new day enjoyed in another way. A way that could not have been but for the sadness's existence."

Anne Mallory

I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE HERE.

"Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise again." ~ Victor Hugo

Are you wondering how or when to take the next step in your life? You don't have to do it alone. I believe that the answers to many of life's problems lie within ourselves, and that it is my job to help you find them. In our work together, we will build a foundation of trust and incorporate multiple modalities in designing your treatment plan. I am available for in person counseling for at my office in Lacey, Washington. In addition, and if appropriate, I can provide therapy via telehealth for anyone living in Washington State.

I am a person centered therapist and my style is relaxed and solution focused. We will laugh, and you will probably cry, but you will feel better. I value authenticity, balance, and security and try to infuse therapy sessions with those values. I work with individuals age 13 and up who are have experienced trauma, anxiety, ADHD, or who are struggling to navigate their life path.  I also have extensive experience working with the LGBTQ+ community and specifically with transgender folks who are navigating both the coming out and transition process.

It is essential to find a therapist who is a good fit. If you are interested in working with me please contact me for a free 15 minute phone consultation.

ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Rachel Freer. I received my Master of Arts in Counseling from Saint Martin's University and my BA from the Evergreen State College. I am mom to a teenager who was homeschooled until middle school. I understand the need for and am supportive of a non-traditional educational path.

My training includes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping) and Financial Therapy, as well as certification in Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Relationships (STAIR). I am currently working on a Certificate in Eating Disorders at Lewis and Clark College.

In my free time I enjoy attending musicals and concerts. I have an extensive collection of vinyl records, crystals, and houseplants. I love a good rainy PNW day - it's a great excuse to curl up on the couch with a cup of coffee and my current knitting project. On non-rainy days you will find me in the garden or sitting outside with a good book.
